AN INQUEST into the death of a Stockbridge mum-of-three who died in a fatal crash on a busy Hampshire road has been opened and adjourned until August.

Nicola Price died following a two-car collision with another car which was travelling west on the A31 and caused major tailbacks in both directions.

The incident occurred at Bratley Arch near Stoney Cross, at 3.25pm on Friday, January 8 but the 39-year-old, from Stockbridge, died at Southampton General Hospital the following day.

A 62-year-old Ringwood woman, who had been driving westbound in a Mitsubishi Mirage, was also taken to hospital but was discharged after treatment.

Days after the incident officers from Hampshire police were trying to find out why Nicola’s Toyota MR2 had stopped in the nearside lane.

Nicola is the mum of Shannon, 20, Tyler, 19, and Logan, nine.

Southampton and Western Hampshire coroner Grahame Short will hold a hearing into the circumstances surrounding her death on Tuesday August 2, at 10am in Winchester.
