A WOMAN who died in a car crash after a deer reportedly jumped in front of her car has been named.

Ivory Lapitan, 24, was killed after she hit the deer when it ran in front of her car, and then crashed into a tree on the A33 near Micheldever.

Paramedics found her dead at the scene at 6.30am on Monday, April 25.

Ms Lapitan, from Basingstoke, worked for the NHS and had studied at the University of Southampton, according to her Facebook page.

Now an inquest into the fatal smash has been opened.

On Monday a Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “Officers were called to reports of a car which was in collision with a tree shortly after 6.30am.

“The road is currently closed as officers continue their investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision.

“Sadly, the female driver of the Peugeot died at the scene.

“Next of kin have been informed. No-one else was involved in the incident.

“We would like to thank members of the public for their patience as we deal with this incident.”
