AN Andover man has been charged on suspicion of drink driving following a collision with railings and a concrete bollard in London Street on Sunday Police were called to a report of a single-vehicle collision outside Martins Garage, at 8.29pm on Sunday 12 June.

Alex Kenny, of Blossom Close, has been arrested and charged with driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit.

The 29-year-old is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 28 June.

One passer-by, who was walking past the scene at 10pm on Sunday, said that the road was closed and they were removing a black car.

He said: "I took a photo with my phone during the removal, it’s not great quality as it was dark but you can clearly see that the car had mounted the fence and also the concrete bollard in front had been broken."
