AN Andover man, who already had a community order for a battery offence, has been given a fine of more than £100 for assaulting a police officer.
Marc Andrew Kirk pleaded guilty to assaulting a constable in the execution of their duty when he appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court recently.
The 27-year-old, Clarendon Avenue, was given a £175 fine in total including £150 in compensation and £25 in costs.
Kirk was ordered to participate in a rehabilitation activity of a maximum of 20 days.
He also had one count of having a conviction of an offence while a community order was made by North Hampshire Magistrates' Court for an offence of battery was in force.
This community order, made on November 17 last year, was revoked.
