A MOTORIST who was caught speeding at 126mph has been banned from driving for four months.

Luke Harrison, 42, pleaded guilty to speeding on the A34 north of Winchester in his BMW 335 on May 16 this year.

Aldershot Magistrates' Court heard that Harrison was driving on the road between Three Maid and Bullington at about 10.30pm when officers on patrol recorded his speed.

Harrison, of Wantage, Oxfordshire, was ordered to pay an £825 fine, £85 in costs, and an £83 victim surcharge.

Simon Gomer, safer roads unit and driver awareness training manager for Hampshire Constabulary, said: “Time and again our roads policing officers are confronted with the devastating consequences of speeding, yet some people still insist on taking that risk.

“When you speed you are not only putting your life at risk but the lives of other innocent road users.

“Lives are lost and families are destroyed, so please think before speeding, it is not worth the risk.”
