A FORMER BHS boss has been banned from driving after he was caught speeding in Andover.

Dominic Chappell was clocked driving at an average speed of 63.9mph in a 40mph zone on Churchill Way on April 6.

He appeared in Aldershot Magistrates' Court today for sentencing after previously pleading guilty for the offence.

The 49-year-old, who lives in Dorset, had 10 points on his licence for three other speeding offences in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Chappell was given six points for his latest speeding offence, bringing the total on his licence up to 16.

He was disqualified from holding a driving licence for six months, fined £665 and ordered to pay £150 in costs.

The former racing driver made national headlines last year after buying BHS for £1 from Sir Philip Green.

He described taking millions out of the soon to be defunct company as a 'drop in the ocean', despite the loss of nearly 11,000 jobs.
