POLICE have launched an investigation following an armed robbery where a man was injured after being held at knife point.

A 47-year-old man was walking along Icknield Way towards Smannell Road between 4.10am and 4.30am on Friday, October 14 when another man approached him from behind. 

He produced a knife and demanded money, but the victim fought him off and the attacker ran off towards Turin Court.

Officers say nothing was stolen but the victim received a cut to his finger which was treated at Andover War Memorial Hospital.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and are looking to trace a silver Ford Focus that was seen at the time.

The attacker has been described as a 5ft 10in black man in his 20s or 30s of a slim build with a goatee and wearing a grey hoodie with the hood pulled tight over his head and face, and grey jogging bottoms.
