A NEW bakery has set up shop in town and boasts an array of international sweet treats.

Patisserie Ambrosia 69, on Winchester Street, opened its doors for the first time last week, run by husband and wife team Mariusz and Dorota Pieprzowski.

On what they think of opening in the town Mrs Pieprzowski said she liked Andover, saying: “It is a smaller town and Athens was very big. I have done baking for 10 years. You can find anything here, nice coffee, nice cake and sweets.”

This is not the couple’s first bakery as they used to own a shop in Greece before they moved to Andover.

The 47-year-old, of Beatty Court, says her favourite treats to bake are cheesecakes and poppyseed cake.

Patisserie Ambrosia 69 sells a variety of “international” delights such as Greek, Polish and French cakes, pastries and other sugary confectionary.

The Polish couple also sell a variety of savoury snacks including sandwiches, wraps and croissants.
