TWO suspects at the centre of a murder probe involving Andover pensioner Malcolm Cox have been re-bailed by police.

Officers say a 38-year-old woman and a 71-year-old man, who were arrested following the death of Mr Cox in November last year, have been bailed pending further enquiries.

The 38-year-old woman has been re-bailed until May 23, while the 71-year-old has been re-bailed until June 6.

Both suspects were arrested following the shock death of former serviceman, Mr Cox.

Paramedics were initially called to an address in Bell Road on Tuesday 15 November, where they found the 84-year-old with a laceration to the back of his head.

Mr Cox, also of Bell Road, was later taken to North Hampshire Hospital, in Basingstoke, but died the following morning.

Police arrested a 38-year-old woman on suspicion of murder following Mr Cox's death.

A 71-year-old man was arrested two days later.

A post-mortem examination was carried out into the death of Mr Cox, but police say the results proved 'inconclusive'.

An inquest into his death is scheduled to be held later this year.
