TWO 16-year-old boys arrested in connection with an attempted robbery in Andover Cemetery have been released without charge.
As previously reported by the Advertiser, the incident took place as a teenager walked through the cemetery in Church Close between 5.45pm and 6.30pm on Wednesday, November 23.
Three males with scarves across their faces approached the 16-year-old and one of them punched him in the stomach and then the face.
The other two males then tried to remove the victim’s rucksack and, when they couldn’t, the trio ran off towards the town centre.
One male wore a grey hoodie and jogging bottoms and the other two wore black puffa-style jackets.
Two 16-year-old boys, one from Basingstoke and one from Andover, were arrested in connection with the incident but police have confirmed that both have been released with no further action.
