A TOWN CENTRE eatery will host a mic night as talent spotters look for the next singing sensation.

ITV’s The Voice UK 2018 will be returning to Butter’s Cafe for the first round of auditions on Thursday, May 4 from 7.30pm.

Open to solo artists or duos the mic night is on a first come first serve basis.

Under 18s are allowed if accompanied with parent/legal guardian.

Stuart Blake, owner, said: "We are happy they decided to return to Andover, usually its big towns such as southampton they consider doing an evening event like this.

"I think it's a positive for Andover, and for all local performs to have a chance, we know its not for everyone but at least the people interested can have ago."

"It's first come first served, which means anyone can turn up and be heard.

"It's also a bonus this year they are allowing backing tracks, with so much negativity in Andover lately, it's nice to have a positive.

"I know a lot of people think Butter's Cafe should be just a cafe, but we think it works bringing music in to a relaxed atmosphere - it appeals to all ages, which is what music is, something for everyone.

"It would be amazing if someone local got through, we hope everyone will come along and support this."
