ANDOVER Carnival is calling clubs, businesses and charities to take part in this year’s festivities.

Organisers behind the event, which is one of the biggest in the town’s annual calender, are promising to make it even bigger and better this year.

The carnival committee is hoping to attract organisations to have their own lorry and join the carnival procession, due to take place on Sunday, July 16.

Costs start from £20, or groups can walk for free.

Full of colour, music, fairground, entertainment and fun, the extravaganza is brought to the community, by the community.

The committee expect a turnout of around 10,000 people.

This fundraising event, in aid of local charities, starts at 4pm with a procession through town, ending at Vigo park where live entertainment is available all day as well as the funfair with stalls and a range of food carts.

But applications need to be in soon as the deadline is on Friday, June 9.

Forms are available at andovercarnival.org.
