THE Queen’s Honours List has been released, including a former mayor of Test Valley and a founder of a charity.

Pauline Broomhead, from Andover, is the founder and chief executive of the Foundation for Social Improvement. It is a charity that was set up to aid small charities with learning opportunities to grow larger.

Marion Kerley was given the honour for giving 50 years of service to the town of Andover, including being the mayor of Test Valley.

Tidworth-based Warrant Officer Class 2 (WO2) Karen Styles, Chair of the Army LGBT Forum, was honoured for her work promoting equal and fair opportunities throughout Defence and helping raise the Army’s profile in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index.

Others in Hampshire on the honours list include:

Dr Deborah Goodwin, from Odiham, for services to Armed Forces Staff Education, including teaching at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst.

Clare Davies, HR director for the Metropolitan Police Service.

Dr Nicholas Hughes, for services to Innovation in Africa.

Dr Cheryll Pitt, senior executive officer at the Ministry of Defence, for services to aviation safety.

David Curry, chief fire officer at Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service received the Queen’s Fire Service Medal for Distinguished Service.
