A WEATHER warning for thunderstorms and torrential rain has been issued for Andover.

The Met Office says the region could see lightning tomorrow evening after temperatures are again set to soar above 25C.

Two weather warnings have been sent out and in total are set to last from 5pm tomorrow until 8pm on Wednesday.

For tomorrow's weather warning chief forecaster said: "Thundery showers are expected to push north across southern parts of the UK through Tuesday evening, perhaps turning more widespread towards midnight.

"Although many places won't see these showers, there is a chance of localised flooding of homes, businesses and susceptible roads.

"Frequent lightning may be an additional hazard with potential disruption to power networks.

"Similarly, but very locally, hail may cause impacts."

Scattered thunderstorms with "intense downpours" will continue to move north across the country into the early hours of Wednesday.

The thunderstorms may ease later in the night and possible sever storms may break out again across central and eastern parts of England on Wednesday afternoon.

A chief forecoster added: "Although many places will miss the thunderstorms, there is a chance of some localised flooding of homes, businesses and roads.

"Frequent lightning may be an additional hazard with potential for disruption to power networks.

"Large hail may be an additional hazard on Wednesday afternoon."
