A SECOND Friday of fun has been held in the centre of Andover.

The second of Test Valley Borough Council’s Four Fun Fridays was held with SWANK Girl Guides and their full camp brining another day of school holiday activities to High Street on Friday, August 11.

The guides joined for a ‘Joyous Jamboree’ including a camp fire sing-along, and the opportunity to learn new skills, play games and win badges.

Artist Richard Austin was also present live chain-sawing wood carvings throughout the afternoon alongside creative workshops on offer from the Artroom.

Grandmother Patricia Sanders who took her grandchildren to the event said: “I think they’re absolutely wonderful, it’s been a long time coming.

“It’s great and it’s good for the children, they do enjoy it.”

Face painting was in full-swing and the Bureau of Silly Ideas held ‘shirt or squirt’ bike races through the town.

The organisers of the event have thanked the facepainter for her ‘fantastic’ skills, Andover Trees United, the Recycling Stars team, Andover Vision and The Artroom for all the activities put on on the day.

Two more Fun Fridays are yet to come to Andover town centre, with the event today hosting a pop-up story-telling shed, family photographs with a twist and a musical accompaniment of gypsy jazz.
