I AM not so sure I agree with Bryan Beggs comment from last week of, “Sadly nothing is ever forever”, as I was brought up to believe that if you looked after, treated well and repaired your belongings, they would indeed last forever!

The residents of this town have always had to concede to decisions made by their forefathers on Andover Borough Council and now TVBC whose main aim seems to be to totally change this town beyond recognition. If they can’t or won’t maintain and secure it, they will just move it, like our war memorial and now the public toilets. But, if they sense money can be made from it, they will find a way of knocking it down and replacing it with living accommodation! In fact it feels that TVBC are quite literally putting our market town out to market!

I was also wondering, but probably won’t get a reply, regarding the Town Mills project, whether Mr North and his cabinet will continue to encourage the public to feed the blight of pigeons around this area, whilst us business people have to contend with their germinfested droppings and nesting thus ruining the structures of the buildings, for which TVBC offer no help to lower the amount of flying rats plaguing this town, other than “it’s the landlords’ problem”!

No wonder no businesses want to come here.

Lastly, I would like to wish James Robinson all the very best in his new venture.
