ANDOVER new’s temporary swimming pool has finally opened.
The new pool, based in Shepherds Spring Lane car park, opened its doors at 12.30pm today.
The pool was initially due to open in late August but was initially delayed due to a “breakdown” in the supply of building materials.
The new launch date was set then for the end of last month but was postponed yet again.
At the time, the council said the contractor building the temporary pool had told them they were unable to meet the revised completion date.
The £700,000 project is meant to bridge the gap in the town’s swimming facilities while a new leisure centre is built.
It will be available for use until the new Andover Leisure Centre is completed.
