Blood bikes topic of discussion for Whitchurch WI
THE WHITCHURCH Women’s Institute has had a visit from Blood Bike volunteers to talk about the service they provide.
On October 19, Steve Waters from SERV Wessex Blood Bike volunteers came to Whitchurch to talk about the work he does to deliver blood and other urgently required items via motorcycle to hospitals and other places that need them.
Five woman from various Hampshire WIs also attended the evening to help hand over more than £100 for the charity, raised from various coffee mornings and cake sales from all different WIs.
An additional £40 was donated from Whitchurch’s WI to help fund the Blood Bikes.
