A festive feast was enjoyed by more than 100 guests at Andover Neighbourcare’s annual Christmas lunch, this year served by volunteers from Simplyhealth on Tuesday.

Simplyhealth chief executive Romana Adbin was joined by other members of the company’s senior leadership team to serve up the festive banquet at Andover Masonic Hall.

Guests also enjoyed a raffle and Christmas carols sung by a choir made up of staff from the everyday health company.

Ms Abdin said: “Simplyhealth has long supported Andover Neighbourcare and volunteering today has been a great opportunity for the team and me to see first-hand how our donations are helping.

“Corporate giving is at the heart of everything we do at Simplyhealth and tackling isolation in the elderly is one of the issues we have identified as a key focus and events like today are so important to bring people together.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed spending time meeting and getting to know those in our community.”

Guests were joined by The Rev Canon John Harkin, Vicar of St Mary’s Church in Andover, and were taken to and from the lunch in a minibus Neighbourcare bought earlier this year following a £30,000 grant from Simplyhealth.

Pam Delderfield, manager of Andover Neighbourcare, which celebrated its 25th anniversary this year, said: “We’d like to thank Simplyhealth for its continued support. Our guests enjoyed their lunch served by the volunteers and loved joining in with the choir.”
