A WEYHILL Road school’s budding actors are preparing to showcase their skills next month.

Rehearsals for The Wizard of Oz are well underway at Rookwood School with pupils last week busy honing their craft for their upcoming production of the beloved children’s classic.

The group of actors have been rehearsing since November and are so keen that they came into school during the Christmas holidays to run through their lines.

With not long to go until show time, the coming weeks will be spent finalising lighting and staging, preparing outfits and practicing song lyrics.

Organisers say this production will be even more spectacular than the school’s previous performance of Guys and Dolls.

Pupils will be performing at The Lights on Tuesday, 27 February and Wednesday, 28 February, both at 7pm. Tickets cost £12.50 or £9.50 for a concessions ticket.

Tickets are are available to buy both at The Lights box office and online at the theatre’s website.
