SCOUTS from across the area have received awards from Basingstoke and Deane’s mayor.

Members of Scout groups were presented with their Chief Scout Award (CSA) by Councillor Paul Frankum and mayoress Cllr Jane Frankum on Tuesday 23 January.

Overall, 25 Cub scouts from units at Overton, Brighton Hill, Rooksdown, Hatch Warren and South Ham received their silver awards, while three Explorer Scouts, Kate Young, Calum O and Amber Tavene, received their platinum CSA Awards and Calum O received his Diamond CSA certificate.

The presentation was attended by a large audience of parents, other guests and District and Unit leaders including district president, Lady Louisa Portal and District Commissioner, Mike Webb.

There are several gradings of the CSA, with younger members of the organisation receiving silver after completing seven challenges.
