A NEW series of family raves touring the UK are coming to a Southampton nightclub for the first time.

Raver Tots, a family rave where kids and grown-ups can hit the dancefloor and let off some steam together is coming to Switch nightclub in Southampton next month.

The event will consist of a variety of old skool rave, happy hardcore, drum and bass and house music from some of the UK’s top DJs including residents Artful Dodger, Brandon Block, Slipmatt and Nicky Blackmarket.

Alongside this, there will be tons of kids fun including face painting, UV lights, bubbles, balloons, confetti and giant parachutes.

Founder of the events, Mike Pickets, says the events will allow kids work off some energy in a fun-filled and safe environment and prove popular with many selling out up to three months in advance.

He added: “Since my early childhood I’ve been passionate about rave music, and setting up Raver Tots has given us the opportunity to use the rave scene as a platform to create awareness and raise money for Autism and ADHD.

“I suffered with ADHD as a child and found there was very little help or understanding for what I was going through.

“We launched Raver Tots to try and combine great music and a sense of fun with an atmosphere of inclusivity, and we were so blown away by the response to our warm-up event that we’ve decided to grow Raver Tots nationally.”

Ryan Keary, director of Switch Southampton, added: “Raver tots is a great way to give children the chance to have a fun introduction to dance music.”

Southampton’s event takes place on Sunday, March 4, from 1.30pm until 5pm.

Tickets, costing £9 for kids and £11 for adults, can be booked online at switchsoton.com

The organisation also has ongoing charitable interest and supports an array of charities that help children with autism and ADHD.
