IT WAS gin and tonic galore for guests attending a one-year birthday party for a start-up company on Friday.

Test Valley Gin celebrated its anniversary at The Greyhound in Stockbridge where attendees were greeted with gin and tonics in the venue where the brand was initially launched one year ago.

Now the enterprise has expanded from its initial Test Valley Gin, to include Spire Gin and the newest addition of Solstice Gin, a pink, hibiscus infused liquor with hints of summer fruits.

Founder Kate Griffin will be re-branding her business to Wessex Spirits, to incorporate all three brands of gin and “others that will follow.”

Mrs Griffin said: “I mainly wanted to hold the party to thank everyone who has been so supportive to me and Test Valley Gin over the last year.

“Every bottle sale, every like and share on my Facebook page and click on my website makes a difference to me- as it is just me!

“The second year of the business also brings the excitement of moving out of my grandad’s annexe in his garden to my very own premises in Andover.

“It’s currently having building work completed and I’m thrilled that the design is being done by fellow local Andover indie Steph from La Di Da Luxuries and Interiors.”

The gin enthusiast acquired her new headquarters at Dene Road, Andover, last month, which will be used for making gin and hosting cocktail and tasting events for small pre-booked groups once a licence is given the go-ahead.

Mrs Griffin hopes to host another party for when the new premises is up and running, which she said hopes to be by the end of March.
