RESIDENTS of a care home enjoyed a day trip out to Wyevale Garden Centre as part of a scheme making residents’ wishes happen.

Ashbourne Court Care Home took two of its residents to the centre on a special day as part of its Wishing Well scheme last Monday.

The ladies enjoyed refreshments and chose seeds to take back and plant at the care home’s planters.

Ashbourne Court Care Home activities leader Caroline Atkis said: “I had liaised with Paula at Wyevale Garden Centre prior to our visit to inform her of this scheme, and she was there to meet us and made the two residents’ day extra special by letting them choose a plant each to take to their home.”

“Also a lady who wasn’t well enough to go on the visit to Wyevale, Paula found a plant with a lovely scent, as this lady is visually impaired.

“Everyone had a wonderful time, despite the snow falling around us!”

The next Wishing Well trip is a visit to Cholderton Rare Breeds Farm this week.
