A PRIMARY school is encouraging people to enter its fundraising trail run to go towards refurbishing its facilities.

Amport Primary School is hosting 10km, 5km and 3km runs tomorrow, as well as a cake stall and other activities at Amport Cricket Club.

The money raised will go towards Amport School Parent Teacher’s Association (PTA), for refurbishing one of the school’s two buildings which houses the Reception and Year 1, Year 3 and 4 classrooms as well as facilities in it.

Amport PTA Sheela Putt said: “We are, like all small schools especially, suffering from the government funding cuts so we to have to raise money for any refurb projects by running events like this.

“There will be medals and trophies as well as a fabulous cake stall and lots of games and activities up at the cricket club.

“It’s a perfect event for families.”
