IT IS ‘half time’ in a 24-hour charity football match after the weekend snow caused a postponement.

The match was due to take place on Saturday from noon at The Sports Academy astroturf pitch until noon the next day in aid of Sport Relief, but the snowy conditions meant the match had to be called off after eight hours.

However, organisers Paul and Rebecca Whitewick have said it is just ‘half time’ and the plan is to continue the game, possibly in June or July.

Streets Ahead, the special needs section of Andover New Street FC, along with other players, opened the match and played for the first hour in bitterly cold conditions with Streets Ahead player Mark Riddas playing the whole eight hours.
