THREE further arrests have been made in connection to a murder investigation in Andover.

The arrests come after police were called to Smannell Road shortly before 1am this morning (Friday, 13 April) after a 28-year-old man was found in a life-threatening condition.

Police are now confirming the man was found in an alleyway just off Smannell Road.

The victim, from London, was taken to Southampton General Hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Following further investigations two women, aged 32 and 47, and a 46-year-old man, all from Andover, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in custody.

A 37-year-old man, from Andover, was also arrested on suspicion of murder earlier this morning and remains in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Ben Chivers said: “Our investigations into the exact circumstances of what happened in the early hours of this morning are ongoing and residents in Andover will see a lot of police activity in the area today and throughout the weekend.

“We will be carrying out house to house enquiries, as well as undertaking an extensive search of the scene.

“At this stage, we believe there are still people who were in the area or saw what happened that we have yet to speak to, so if this is you, please get in touch.”

Investigations are ongoing, and police are looking to speak to anyone who was in the area in the early hours of this morning or late last night.
