SHOPPERS dug deep to help raise funds for bikers who deliver vital supplies across the Wessex region.
Volunteers from SERV Wessex were out campaigning at the Sainsbury’s store in Shepherds Spring Lane last Saturday.
Customers donated £659 which will go towards the running costs of the charity’s fleet, along with fuel.
Volunteer Robert Smith said: “We would like to thank the manager and staff at Sainsbury’s Andover for allowing us to come along and fundraise on Saturday.
“SERV Wessex needs around £900 each month to enable us to run fleet and continue to allow us to provide our essential service to the NHS within Hampshire, South Wiltshire and Dorset.”
Robert added that the organisation is “very grateful” to those who donated during the course of the day.
Last year SERV Wessex riders covered 111,000 miles to get much-need blood, milk and X-ray results to patients at hospitals across the region.
