THOUSANDS of people put their best foot forward for a host of good causes in the London Marathon yesterday (Sunday).

Among the runners were plenty of people from Andover and the surrounding area who battled through the heat to support charities close to their hearts.

Over 40,000 participants pounded the pavements of the capital to run the 26.2-mile race while enduring record-breaking temperatures of up to 24C.

Runners from the town have raised thousands of pounds for all sorts of causes, both local and national.
