RUNNERS braved the heat to raise funds for Wherwell Primary School.
On Bank Holiday Monday, hundreds competed in the annual Harewood Forest 10km and 5km races.
Many also took part in the event’s first 1km and 2km fun-runs.
Sanet Bircham, who organised the race alongside husband Pete, said: “It was a great day but it was incredibly hot.”
During the day Wherwell Preschool and football club the Shooters hosted a fete to also raise money.
Crowds also enjoyed live music, a tombola and football matches.
Money raised from races will be split between the Wherwell Playing Fields and the Wherwell School Parent Teacher Association.
“We are doing a bit of playground upgrading at the moment and it will support the school and parents with the cost of trips,” Sanet added.
The day of races was supported by organisers of the Muddy Run.
