USERS of an Enham-based disability charity discovered their “delicious” marmalade-making skills by winning prizes from a worldwide awards scheme.

Enham Trust residents and clients made their own marmalade at the charity’s on-site training kitchen, and submitted 12 handmade jams to the World’s Original Marmalade Awards and Festival in March.

After much deliberation from the Cumbria-based event, they collectively won six silver and six bronze awards for their tasty creations.

Enham Trust’s nutritional advisor Diana Smith said: “I am so pleased that all our individual entries have placed silver and bronze awards in such a prestigious marmalade competition.

“As a group, we like to experiment with flavours and textures, and create new recipes that everyone can enjoy.

“I would like to congratulate everyone as they all have worked so hard over the last few weeks to produce some delicious marmalade.”

Enham Trust’s training kitchen has rise and fall worktops to be accessible for wheelchair users, and supports disabled people to learn new skills.
