A SCHOOL’S litter picking efforts are being gratefully rewarded.

Eight pupils from Harrow Way School took part in a litter pick at Charlton Lakes on Monday, May 21.

Litter picker and ‘attitude of gratitude campaigner’ Manuela Wahnon visited the lakeside location with pupils and teachers to eradicate litter, inspired by the Keep Britain Tidy Organisation.

She said: “As an Attitude of Gratitude Campaigner, I perhaps more than most, am always aware of how our attitudes affects our work our interactions and our daily tasks. Leading this Charlton lakes litter pick with pupils from Harrow Way School, I was simply blown away by the exuberance and enthusiasm for the task, displayed by one of the students. Her infectious laughter and good natured rivalry helped make the outing one I will long remember”

Manuela plans to acknowledge Megan Nikolic's hard work with an ‘Attitude of Gratitude Award’ after being impressed by her efforts on the day.

Leader of the council Cllr Phil North will present the award to the Harrow Way student.

Manuela was inspired to arrange the collaboration between pupils, Environmental Services, environmental portfolio holder Councillor Graham Stallard and herself as a direct result of seeing Harrow Pupils at the Andover Town Tidy Day.
