THE victim of a fatal stabbing in Andover has been named as William John Rudiak.

The 26-year-old from Winchester Road, Chandler’s Ford, was found in house in Turin Court, following a report of a serious assault at 3.11am on Monday.

Emergency services rushed to the incident but Mr Rudiak was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

His next-of-kin are being supported by specialist officers from Hampshire Constabulary. 

A police spokesman said that following a post-mortem they can confirm that Mr Rudiak had died from a single stab wound.

Officers continue to investigate the murder in Turin Court and a report of a sexual assault on a young woman in Little London which was reported at 3.55am on Monday.

A 21-year-old man, who was arrested in connection with both incidents, remains in custody after magistrates granted extra time for detectives to question him.
