AN ANDOVER care home has been given a cash boost by one of the town’s biggest employers.

Co-op Distribution Centre has donated £1,750 to the Copper Beeches Residential Home, in Woodlands Way.

The cheque was awarded to the home as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to support local communities throughout the Test Valley area and beyond.

It was presented by Kat Uren, engagement support assistant, and operations manager Darren Niven to staff and residents.

Registered manager Linda Burton said: “We can’t thank everyone enough for the donation, with some of the money we have already celebrated fish and chip Friday, with a great fish and chip meal.

“We are planning a ‘stay at home cruise’ celebrating a different destination each day. We are also starting a little project looking to personalise bedrooms for those who have little or no relatives to support them.”

The funds were raised through raffles, a tombola and a cake sale at the distribution centre on Andover Business Park.
