HUNDREDS of dancers descended on The Lights for the town’s fourth dance festival.

Over 300 performers joined together in the love of dance to put on a fun-filled show, organised by Balksbury Junior School, to a packed audience on June 20.

Sixteen groups, with dancers aged from six to 60 performed more than 30 dances showcasing ballet, hip hop and tap.

Kevin Hession, director of Fair Play Performing Arts, said: “The Andover Dance Festival is always a fantastic event for our students to take part in. “From watching the other groups rehearse and getting ready backstage to performing to new audiences, the whole experience carries a buzz of excitement.

“The performances this year were incredible and they really did show what fantastic talent we have in the town; we were blown away.”

To conclude the evening compère Dave Coombs, handed over to Test Valley mayor Councillor Ian Carr who presented all the participating groups with a trophy.
