ANDOVER Young Carers (AYC) can now fully enjoy their garden thanks to the community rallying around to help.

Councillor Chris Lynn visited the centre to find AYC’s trusty lawnmower had thrown in the towel, and went to find financial support from Andover Rotary, and a machine from Andover Garden Machinery.

The local company’s manager Paul Clarke however, decided to give AYC the grass cutter free of charge.

AYC charity executive Jill Baines said it was a “hugely appreciated move”.

She added: “A long time friend of AYC, cllr Chris Lynn, popped in to catch up with Andover Young Carers just as they were mourning the demise of their trusty lawnmower.

“Knowing how vital the garden is to the young carers who attend the centre, allowing them to relax and enjoy garden games, play a game of 5-a -side, or to enjoy some painting in the sun, cllr Lynn decided to see if he could find local support to replace the lawnmower.

“Andover Young Carers would like to thank everyone involved in helping our young carers enjoy a great summer of fun in our garden.”
