A BULLIED teenager who was forced to miss her prom after she was tormented at school has had her own celebration after her mum stepped up, organising a party instead.

Molly Soper shunned Test Valley School’s prom after alleged intimidation from classmates which, the family say, was so bad that police became involved.

Her mother Rebecca could not bear to see her daughter miss out on the end of year celebrations and after speaking to Molly, the pair decided to arrange an alternative prom.

“The last thing she wanted to do was to go to the school prom where all these bullies were going to be but, being a young girl, she was desperate to have a dress and go in a car,” Rebecca said.

“I wanted her to be able to dress up but without all the stress and anxiety of having to mix with people that bullied her.”

But, the prom was not just for 15-year-old Molly as it also allowed her classmates on the animal management course at Sparsholt College to mark the end of their exams.

“She [Molly] met a group of people there, a couple of them were home-schooled and another was bullied and felt that she couldn’t go to her prom either and others are good friends so I arranged a prom,” Rebecca added.

On June 26, the same night as the Test Valley School prom, the group of 10 went to a cocktail bar in Winchester before being picked up in a limousine and taken to the White Hart, in Stockbridge, where Rebecca had hired a room to recreate the prom atmosphere.

“It was a really nice evening as it was something that otherwise Molly and the others wouldn’t have got to do.

“They absolutely loved it – they had more fun than if they would have gone to their own ordinary school proms.”

Molly said: “It was absolutely amazing, I had the best night. It was quite overwhelming as well as I didn’t expect it, my mum had booked a limo and my friends were so excited.”
