Basingstoke Magistrates Court
A CAR thief who stole alcohol from an Andover supermarket has been ordered to compensate the shop.
Samantha Louise North, of Launcelot Close, Andover, walked into the Tesco store in River Way on June 9 and took five bottles of vodka, worth £100.
On Tuesday, July 17, Basingstoke Magistrates Court heard that North then stole a silver Hyundai from the car park.
During the hearing the 31-year-old pleaded guilty to the theft of the alcohol and taking the car.
Magistrates ordered her to carry out 20 rehabilitation days and pay £50 in compensation to Tesco.
North must also pay £85 court costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
