A MOTORIST caught driving at nearly 30 miles per hour over the speed limit has been fined by magistrates.

Thomas Robert Wheeler was travelling along the A303 westbound towards the Stockbridge junction when he was clocked by police in his Audi A5.

At Aldershot Magistrates Court on Wednesday, July 25, Wheeler pleaded guilty to driving over the speed limit.

Magistrates were told that the 28-year-old was driving at 98mph – the speed limit is 70mph – on March 14.

Wheeler of Leighton Park Road, Westbury, was fined £400 and was also given five points his licence.

He was also ordered to pay a £40 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
