A RISING kickboxing star is stepping out in new sports kit thanks to new sponsorship.

Katie Lovell, 12, is being backed by a mechanical and electrical specialist where her mum works, Correct Contract Services (CCS), which provided her with new kit and extra cash to go towards her club subscription with martial arts group Fighting Falcons.

The youngster, who is also a Tae Kwando Black Belt and Tae Kwando World Championships bronze medalist, hopes to become a black belt kickboxer and one day represent Great Britain in junior world kickboxing championships in Italy.

CCS managing director and keen boxer Danny Gladwyn said: “Katie is a champion in the making and we’re delighted to be supporting her ambition to be a world-class kickboxer.

“With her passion, ability and commitment to training and being the best she can be, Katie will go far in this great combat sport.”

This summer Katie will be training for nine days in Csongrad, Hungary, with kickboxing world champion, Zsolt Moradi, at an international camp for talented youths from across the globe.

The South Wilts Grammar School for Girls student will then be competing in September at the Adidas Point Fighting Battle in Bristol where she’ll be up against teams from across Europe.

Katie said: “I am very grateful to CCS for sponsoring me.

“This sponsorship has opened up many new opportunities for me in kickboxing and it's helped me progress at a much faster pace."
