A HAIR salon in Ludgershall has been selected as a finalist in the English Hair and Beauty Awards.

The Wakki Hair Co on High Street in Ludgershall has been selected in the best customers service category in the south west region.

Michelle Bryant, the manager and a stylist at the salon, said she is really happy about the honour.

“It’s nice to be appreciated after such a long and difficult period of lockdowns,” Michelle said.

“I’m pretty excited because we are such a small salon and we are up against the whole of the South West.”

Michelle believes her salon was shortlisted based on the number of reviews form the area and how much reach her business gets through its Facebook page.

She has now been contacted by the English Hair and Beauty Awards with a certificate saying her salon has been shortlisted to the final.

The Wakki Hair Co was selected for the final last year too, but the event was cancelled due to the lockdown.

She is now planning to go to London for the final event.

Michelle joined The Wakki Hair Co when she was just 19 and has grown into the landlord since then.

“I pretty much grew up in this salon,” she said.

“I’m 42 now. I bought the salon off from the previous owner about 15 years ago.”
