All she needs is her begging bowl, so what she is not the only person who has been broken in to but the rest of us do not put our children's (staged) sad faces in the paper so someone will offer her the money.

I am a single parent to and my dishwasher packed up on Wednesday and I was going to go buy a new one, as I like the Smeg ones but seeing this why don't I just phone the Advertiser with my sob story so someone will feel sorry for me and buy me a new one.

Not good! You cannot place this charge on this woman; she has worked hard for her money. It is news and needs to be known about locally if someone is going into houses and taking money. This was a lot of money and took some time for her to save. It’s not nice having that happen to you or anyone.
I hope she gets the dosh back. People are all too quick to jump to conclusions in Ludgershall. What you should be concentrating on is the land that has been stolen from us to make a coach parking area and accommodation. You are all about to be left with a very small recreation ground if you don’t pull together to save it.
The Parish Council forgot to tell everyone the field was left to the people of Ludgershall by Mr Pope for RECREATIONAL use only.
Leave this woman alone now and for heaves sake show your voice and get the planned memorial hall moved across the road to the allotments where it belongs, and hopefully with the Parish Council buried underneath it somewhere. Bill

Yes Bill is right, the land was left by the late Mr Pope for the village for recreational use, now the parish council wants to demolish the present Memorial Hall and build new flats (to make more council tax) and transfer the building to the rec - they are also planning a road to form part of a bypass for the village, to run from near the old castle to come out next to Tescos. Car parking is also planned on the rec, and this will take up two thirds of the grassed area, leaving a tiny smidge of land for the children of the village to play on. It is disgusting the way the villagers have been treated over this.
There was supposed to be letters through every letter box - but I know of nobody who got one...and if you do not read the Andover Advertiser, it seems you will never know what the parish council is planning. They call Ludgershall a Town Council, but Ludgershall is NOT a town.
I agree with Bill, build the new memorial hall (if indeed it needs pulling down when probably simple repairs will suffice), where the allotments are, and leave the commercial businesses out of the residential areas.
Those coaches have taken concrete chunks out of the turning road to the main road, and their drivers very nearly ran into my car without any regard for the locals. Move them away from the park and let's have the children looked after for once.
Often I read that locals are scared by the gangs of teenagers hanging around the shops, well, there is no where for them to go and nothing to do, and if this crazy plan goes ahead there will be no park either. The primary school houses around 400 children alone - so where do the parish council suggest they play? Were they not young once, but then again, in their day there was no concrete jungles just lots of parks to play in.
Mr Pope will be turning in his grave. I hope his children join in the fight.

And let us hope that this hard working, home owning single mother gets her money back.

If the children had somewhere to go they would not need to steal from houses.

Er..read .. This lady is employed as a child minder not a dole scrounger. The theft of £700 is big news to some people. Of course banks are useful for saving but many people prefer saving cash. Why not knock the person who stole the money not the injured party?

just because you are a single mother does not mean you are a dole scrounger....this lady is divorced and a home owner....
i think the purpose of this article is to shame the thief into returning the money he stole.....
i hope she gets her money returned....i hope those who knock this lady never have money stolen from their houses......

To be honest the moment I saw this story I didn't believe a word of it. Are you going to tell me she didn't lock her doors? That this thief just got really lucky and happened to go in on the one time she happens to be in hospital? I don't think so.

I hope that nobody buys into this nonsense and gives her money. Thats the sole purpose of this article. She is begging and has so little shame for it that she parades her children in front of the camera.

What a load of crap I think, before anyone says I am down on single mums let me say I am a single mum with 2 sons, this story is just a sob story and the woman should be ashamed of herself, look at the kids faces, so fake, I have also had an emergency appendectomy but I'm sure like me someone had to look after the children so if they would have secured the home, so contents insurance???? no-one would keep £700 in a tin and if they did it would have to be a **** big tin like a 10 gallon drum or the like.

having had dealings with this dis-honest woman in the past I was not suprised to see her trying another scam. Although no charges were brought she has been accused of deception in the part. Beware!

The story says the theft has been reported to the police. They will be making investigations. If anyone suspects anything else they should put up or shut up.
To those people who think this is a scam I say it says more about your dodgy mentality than this unfortunate woman's.

Hope no-one did give money to this scrounger as from what I read above she is a con artist and already been caught for fraud.
