OVERTON Rugby and Cricket Clubs battled it out in a cricket match to win the Crickby Cup and, at the same time, raise funds for both clubs.

Over 80 people attended the event, which included a bar and barbecue, and managed to raise over £380 for the clubs.

The matches started in 2004 after the clubs got together to encourage the youngsters from Overton Rugby Club to get involved in a sport when the season was over.

After 30 overs the cricket team had reached 138 all out, while the rugby club came close with 123 all out.
