New season brings fresh crop of talent

A NEW generation of rugby players are tackling the sport as a new season starts for Overton Rugby Club (ORC) Youth Section.

Hot on the heels of their achievements in last years Sparkling Rugby TAG tournament the new members are hoping to emulate and possibly improve on their predecessors.

At the end of last season the year three and four players narrowly missed a place in the finals of the TAG tournament.

ORFC Under 12s Team Manager Sarah Norris was overwhelmed at the numbers of new members.

She said: "Children of all ages up to 16 can come along and try out our Sunday morning sessions for two or three Sundays before committing to membership.

"We have welcomed between 15 and 20 newcomers already this September. We always start off thinking that we won't have a full squad of one age group. But now we have and can look forward to our first matches in October."
