A CRICKETERS Way woman who has frequently had her car vandalised, costing her over £1,000 to repair, and her house spray painted is appalled at the lack of policing in the area.

The Andover woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, said the problem had been going on since October. Earlier this week she discovered obscenities had been sprayed on her car.

She is ‘disgusted’ by the lack of police action since she first reported the problem.

She claims street lighting is inadequate and gangs of youths hang around the Tesco Express shop. She has now started a petition for better policing. “My other car had its soft top ripped from its hinges, the boot was jumped on, was keyed from front to back,” she said.

“My tyres have been let down and aerials snapped off, cream cakes smothered over the window and silly string covered the car.

“When I first reported the problem two policewomen cameto see me.”

Police say they have records of two offences being reported and both are under investigation.

Andover Sgt Matt Reeves said: “Safer Neighbour-hoods officers regularly and routinely patrol this area which, despite having low levels of reported crime, has been identified as a policing priority.”
