THE Andover Rotary Club joined in with National Blood Pressure Day by holding free checks at the Rendez-Vous in the town centre.
Over 170 visited to have their blood pressure checked and 26 people were advised to see their doctor while five were regarded as urgent referrals.
Andover's MP Sir George Young decided to pay the club a visit to get his blood pressure checked after spending two hours holding his Advice Bureau in the Guildhall.
Andover Rotary has participated in the national event of annual blood pressure testing for several years but previously went under the name of Stroke Awareness.
The club would like to thank the help given by St John's Ambulance as without them the event could probably not have gone ahead.
