THE third annual Wallops Gift Fair was hailed a huge success by its organisers while raising around £650 for the parish hall and local shop.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Test Valley, Ian and Teresa Hibberd, paid a visit to the proceedings at the Wallops Parish Hall on Saturday.
With 12 mainly local exhibitors, food, drink and a tombola there was plenty to keep the hundreds of visitors happy.
Organiser Delia Bolden said the event had encouraged the local community to come together.
“It was really good and the atmosphere was fantastic,” she said.
“We have to extend special thanks to the Middle Wallop air base who not only provided us with a marquee, they erected and dismantled it for us too.
“The marquee was an add-on to the parish hall which was our main refreshment area we called ‘Paddy’s Pantry’.
“I’m grateful to everyone that took part. All the stall holders were really happy.”
Delia added that she planned to organise another gift fair that will take place before Easter 2010.
