AN Andover chef has ‘gone for the clean shaven middle-aged look’ by shaving off his mohican for charity.
Richard Maskelyne, who works at the Queen Charlotte Inn in London Road, has proudly styled his mohican for over 30 years but as part of a fun day he decided enough was enough.
An auction to decide who got to shave off Richard’s hair attracted around 20 bidders and the lucky winner was only too pleased to do so – his mum.
Landlady Anji Gillies thought the day was a great success and Richard was very courageous to brave the clippers.
“He’s had that mohican for over 30 years so it was brave of him,” she said.
“Now he’s gone for the clean shaven middle aged look.”
The fun day raised over £300 which is being donated to Icknield School in Andover, chosen by Richard because his niece attends the school.
