THE state of health services in the Tidworth and Ludgershall area was the subject of a debate in parliament today.
The MP for Devizes Claire Perry held an adjournment debate on ‘Minor injuries provision in Devizes constituency’ in Westminster Hall.
The Minister of State for Health, Simon Burns MP, was in attendance.
Mrs Perry said that the area had been short-changed by the PCT because other sparsely populated constituencies such as North Devon and Costwolds had four and three minor injury units respectively when Devizes had none following the cuts of 2007.
“The idea getting back some of the MIU services makes my pulse beat a little faster,” said.
But the minister gave a disappointing reply and told her that no changes are possible until the PCTs are phased out in 2013.
