ANDOVER'S VIPs (Visually Impaired People) celebrated their annual summer party by launching a new web site designed specially for users with limited sight.

The web site was created after the charity won a competition held by Andover-based web site designers Out Of Grey, and features speech facilities, as well as options to alter text size and the colour and contrast of the page to suit users' needs.

Andover VIPs co-ordinator Janet Mason said: "Computer use is the way forward for visually impaired people.

"I think it's wonderful it's accessible any visually impaired person can use the site."

Andover MP Sir George Young visited the party to see the web site.

Mrs Mason said she hopes the site will encourage more firms and groups to create accessible web pages in the future.
